Animal Welfare Network Wales initiative aims to make allies of pet owners, dogs and livestock across rural Wales

A host of animal welfare organisations are uniting to deliver a new initiative aiming to keep pet owners, dogs and livestock safe in the countryside. The two-day 'Animals, Land & You' (A.L.Y.) event will take place at the Royal Welsh Show's Winter Fair, on Monday 27 November & Tuesday 28 November, aiming to help "pet owners, dogs, livestock and other animals live harmoniously alongside one another".

The initiative allows two groups of small animal veterinary surgeons from different parts of Europe, to visit each other for a few days to observe practice life and ideally participate in a joint Continuing Education event. The continued existence of vultures and many species of birds of prey hangs in the balance in India, South Africa and Bulgaria.  Animal charity, Wildlife Vets International (WVI), are calling on veterinary professionals to kindly donate to their Raptor Rehabilitation Programme via The Big Give Christmas Challenge.
