The following organisations are associations, groups and societies who are affiliated to the BSAVA.

Each group offer specialist veterinary and small animal knowledge and outstanding CPD.

FECAVA and WSAVA are partner associations with whom we work very closely.

Association of British Veterinary Acupuncturists

The ABVA maintains standards of education, ethics, practice and discipline to ensure the health and wellbeing of animals in the UK. It provides a basic standard for the clinical application and integration of this ancient yet progressive medicine into veterinary practice.

Shelter and Charity Veterinary Association

The Shelter and Charity Veterinary Association provide a contact point for those working within the field to share ideas and experience, and ultimately lead to the development of more recognition and understanding of the special challenges of working within the charity sector.

Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists

The Association of Veterinary Anaesthetists is an active, enthusiastic group of veterinary surgeons and others (e.g. researchers, technicians, pharmacologists) who share an interest in animal anaesthesia, analgesia and animal welfare.

Association of Veterinary Soft Tissue Surgeons

Members of AVSTS include specialist surgeons and general practitioners from the UK and abroad who share a passion and enthusiasm for soft tissue surgery.

British Association of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care

BAVECC is an organisation for those either working or undertaking further education in the field of veterinary emergency and critical care, to have a place in which they be kept informed of developments in the field, liaise with each other and have easy access to information.

British Association of Veterinary Ophthalmologists

BrAVO is for Veterinary Surgeons in the UK and beyond who have a special interest in ophthalmology. It was established to educate and train Veterinary Surgeons in veterinary ophthalmology and to promote the practice, teaching and research of animal ophthalmology.

British Bee Veterinary Association

The BBVA promote awareness and education in bee health, disease, management and research across the veterinary profession.

British Veterinary Behaviour Association

The BVBA is an educational group open to anyone working in or affiliate with the field of companion animal behaviour.

British Veterinary Dental Association

The aims of the association are to educate and train Veterinary and Dental Surgeons in animal dentistry and to promote practice, teaching and research of animal dentistry.

British Veterinary Dermatology Study group

The aims of the British Veterinary Dermatology Study Group are to study and advance the standards of veterinary dermatology in all small animals.

British Veterinary Neurology Society

The BVNS aims to provide a forum to promote the study and development of veterinary neurology and neurosurgery, stimulating exchange of knowledge in this area and advanced CPD for anyone with an interest in veterinary neurology and neurosurgery.

British Veterinary Orthopaedic Association

The BVOA is a collegial group of veterinary surgeons interested in the orthopaedic conditions suffered by our animal friends.

British Veterinary Zoological Society

The BVZS is the specialist division of the BVA and is recognised as having responsibility for exotic pets, companion avian species, zoo animals and wildlife.

British Veterinary Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine Association

One of the aims of the BVRSMA is to regulate the use of hydrotherapy, physiotherapy and rehabilitation to ensure it is performed by suitably qualified and experienced professionals.

European Association of Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging

EAVDI membership includes most of the specialists in veterinary diagnostic imaging in Europe. One of EAVDI's most important roles is to act as a forum where their knowledge and experience can be shared and discussed.

Small Animal Medicine Society

The Small Animal Medicine Society (SAMSoc) is a group for veterinary surgeons with an interest in small animal internal medicine. Our members include first-opinion vets, veterinary students and RCVS, American and European-boarded Specialists in Small Animal Internal Medicine.

Veterinary Cardiovascular Society

The VCS is an organisation which exists to promote the study and development of veterinary cardiology in all species. Membership of the Association is open to any veterinary surgeon or nurse from the UK and abroad and to other suitable qualified workers who are interested in the above aims.

Veterinary Nursing Dermatology Group

Dermatology is a field where the Veterinary Nurse can play a pivotal role. Registered VNs, student VNs, animal nursing assistants and vets are welcome to join the VNDG.

Federation of Veterinarians of Europe

The FVE is an umbrella organisation of veterinary organisations from 38 European countries. FVE also represents four vibrant sections, each of which represent key groups within our profession: Practitioners (UEVP), Hygienists (UEVH), Veterinary State Officers (EASVO) and Veterinarians in Education, Research and Industry (EVERI)

Federation of European Companion Animal Veterinary Associations (Partner Association)

FECAVA is the platform for the promotion of professional development and the representation of companion animal veterinarians in Europe. The association strives to improve the veterinary care of pets, to highlight the human-animal bond and the ‘One Health’ concept.

World Small Animal Veterinary Association (Partner Association)

WSAVA is an association of associations. Its membership is made up of veterinary organisations from all over the world, which are concerned with companion animals. Currently there are 101 member associations, representing almost 200,000 veterinarians from around the globe.
