PetSavers get practical at Congress

PetSavers is inviting delegates to an audience with our volunteer vets, who will be delivering free educational demonstrations in the BSAVA Practical Zone, located on the exhibition floor in the Barclaycard Arena.

The PetSavers demonstrations are free for delegates to attend and seats will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.  Sessions will be taking place on Thursday, Friday and Saturday at times listed below:

Thursday 6th April at 1.15pm – 2.15pm

Surgical drains and where to place them
For people who have never used surgical drains, this will provide a guide to choosing the most appropriate type of drain; placement, care and removal.  Common errors and problems will be discussed.  For those who have used surgical drains, it will give some fresh ‘hints and tips’.

A practical and informal demonstration on suturing

Getting the most from your ophthalmoscope 
This practical and informal session will explain how to perform an ophthalmoscopy as most people find it tricky to examine the back of the eye.  The mysteries of the direct ophthalmoscope will be unravelled including different settings and lenses.  A simple and inexpensive technique for indirect ophthalmoscopy will also be outlined.

Learn first-hand from the experience and expertise of the vets who are dedicated to the charity. Take the opportunity to ask questions and interact at the sessions, which promise to be informative and exciting learning experiences.
