Another successful East European Regional Veterinary Conference (EERVC)

16 October 2018

ACOVENE, the Accreditation Committee for Veterinary Nurse Education, are pleased to announce a very successful pioneering conference for veterinary technicians at the East European Regional Veterinary Conference (EERVC) in Croatia.

EERVC is a new small animal veterinary conference designed to serve the continuing education needs of veterinarians and veterinary nurses/technicians in the wider Eastern European region. The BSAVA has provided valuable funding for the EERVC and has advised on it’s operational delivery through the Director of BSAVA, Amanda Stranack.

The conference was held at The Westin Zagreb Hotel, Zagreb, Croatia from 04-06 October 2018.

Two speakers attended on behalf of ACOVENE, and lectures included basic general nursing, infection control, theatre practice and professional communication. The lectures were interspersed with some very popular practical sessions on barrier nursing and bandaging. Between 30 and 50 delegates attended the sessions, some of which were attended by veterinary surgeons. The feedback on the day was fantastic, with the vets and technicians all taking different points away with them in order to progress their own practise.

Following on from the successful Croatian trip, the same speakers, Lily Lipman RVN and Matthew Rendle RVN,  are booked to deliver a nursing stream at the AMVAC (Association for Veterinary Medicine for Companion Animals) conference in Romania which is running from 8-10th November 2018.
