Online , Online, Gloucester Gloucestershire, GL2 2AB
brought to you by Scottish region
In this instalment of the Regions Now lectures, Silke Salavati will discuss what is hot and what is not in canine chronic enteropathies. The course “What’s hot and what’s not in canine chronic enteropathies” will summarise current knowledge about the pathophysiology of canine chronic enteropathy, will demonstrate evidence-based approaches to canine cases with chronic gastroenterological problems, including appropriate use of (novel) terminology, diagnostics and step-wise treatment approaches. It will also give insight into challenges encountered when dealing with cases of protein-losing enteropathy and demonstrate different outcomes. Novel and alternative diagnostics and treatment options (like probiotics and faecal microbiota transplantations) and the changing concepts about how to best approach these problems in a case-based approach will be showcased and discussed, including some more unusual cases that will serve as examples for important clinical lessons the speaker has learned from them.
