Learn Online: Managing common cardiorespiratory disease in cats
Start Date: Friday 6th May 2022
Tutor: Claudia Gil-Morales
Fees: BSAVA Member £130; Non Member £190
The aim of this course is to provide a practical overview of how to approach and manage the most encountered cardiorespiratory conditions in general practice.
The course will cover top tips on how to differentiate between cardiac and respiratory disease, and how to maximise the results from readily available tests such as radiographs, ultrasound or blood tests, without forgetting about triaging and stabilising these patients.
Our second module will focus on the feline heart, how to identify and manage heart failure, effusions and thromboembolic disease. Finally, our last unit will cover respiratory diseases: from feline airway disease to pyothorax and other infectious diseases.
Online activities (including quizzes and case studies) will support your learning and discussions on the online forum will be encouraged. We also provide additional resources to complement the course - the ‘BSAVA Bonus Bits’. These will include congress podcast recordings, JSAP and companion articles as well as a free chapter from the relevant BSAVA Manual (as well as a discount voucher for purchasing the whole book).
The first weekly unit will be released on the First Friday of the month, with the next weekly units being released on the following two Fridays. The discussion forum is open for the first four weeks of the course and the course content will remain available for a total of 12 weeks. You can complete the work how and when you choose over these 12 weeks.
