Regions Now: Reptiles for beginners
Online , Online , Gloucester Gloucestershire, GL2 2AB
brought to you by Scottish region
PLEASE NOTE: The live session due to take place on 12th October has been rearranged to Tuesday 1st December 2020.
In this installment of the Regions Now lectures, Madonna Livingstone cover reptiles for beginners. Reptiles are being presented to general practice much more commonly. This can be intimidating for vets not familiar with reptiles. The human animal bond is incredibly strong regardless of species and many clients will identify their reptile as a member of their family.
The course will consist of pre-recorded webinars available to watch prior to a live digital event (which will include case studies). The live session will be a selection of commonly seen conditions presented as case discussions.
Before the live event
Delegates will be issued with a link to a closed group on the BSAVA Regional website, with access granted to a series of short webinars and associated reading. Access to this will be from 5th October.
The live session will take place on 1st December. Join us in the waiting room at 7.30pm, for a prompt 7.45pm start. This session will last 1.5 hours with opportunities for questions and discussion with the speaker.
After the event
Delegates will have access to the online content and discussion forum, and there will be opportunity for community peer to peer, and volunteer discussion, which is an important part of our Regional CPD.
The pre-recorded course is designed to give the delegates the confidence to:
- advise clients how to transport their pets to the clinic,
- recognise commonly kept reptiles species,
- sex the commonly kept species,
- know what is normal for the commonly kept species,
- how to humanely euthanise reptiles.
