The BSAVA Vet Nurse Merit Award in ECC and Anaesthesia is a structured CPD course which counts for 30 hours CPD.

The programme consists of 10 recorded webinar sessions, An online resource which will encourage support in your learning through online activities including a discussion forum.

The online resource will open on Monday 9th March to give you time to familiarise yourself with the system and have a chat on the forum before the first session becomes available on Monday 23rd March 2020.

A practical attendance course will take place at Woodrow House, Gloucester and will give you chance to meet the colleagues who have been studying at the same time as you and to get your hands on experience in various practical sessions. Attendance at this day is essential to completing the award.

The course will be finished with an online MCQ assessment and case study which if you complete to a passing grade will be rewarded with a certificate and badge.

Triage and initial patient assessment
Shock and Fluid therapy
Pre anaesthesia planning and considerations
Anaesthesia equipment and monitoring
Cardio-respiratory patients - Emergency presentations and anaesthesia
Acute abdomen
Emergency care and anaesthesia of the endocrine patient
Head trauma - Emergency presentation and anaesthesia
Analgesia and pain scoring
Critical care nursing

Qualified nurses with an interest in ECC and Anaesthesia

Terms and Conditions: All courses must be paid for in full at the time of booking.

To qualify for an applicable refund, cancellations must emailed to administration@bsava.com or requested by telephone on 01452 726700. With over 30 days’ notice we will refund 70% of the course fee.  With between 15-30 days’ notice we will refund 50% of the course fee.  No refunds will be provided for cancellations with notice of 14 days or less, however if we are able to resell your place on the course we will provide a full refund.

BSAVA reserves the right to alter the programme or the speaker should this become necessary due to unavoidable circumstances.  BSAVA reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances.  Registrants should note that the BSAVA member's rate applies only when the person attending the course is a member of the Association.  To qualify for the reduced member's rate for courses, non-members must join BSAVA prior to the course.
