Dental disease is the most common presenting complaints in pet rabbits in general practice. These conditions can be challenging to manage, often requiring repeated or lifelong treatment.
This course will use clinical scenarios and practical tips to improve the clinical approach and hands-on management of these cases. Diagnosis and treatment of dental disese together with client education will be covered in detail.
The day will comprise of Dental anatomy and physiology - form to function
dental radiography - Obtaining and interpreting dental radiographs
Planning dental interventions - deciding how much to alter the mouth
Principals of dental interventions - burring insicors and cheek teeth, applying dental nerve blocks, incisor and cheek teeth extractions.
- Be confident in diagnosing dental problems in rabbits
- Learn a good clinical approach to managing rabbit dental cases
- Become confident in radiographic interpretations
- Become more confident extracting incisors and molars
- Information for client education - includng dietary advice, support for long term medication and top tips for client recognition of early problems

To qualify for an applicable refund, cancellations must emailed to email@example.com or requested by telephone on 01452 726700. With over 30 days’ notice we will refund 70% of the course fee. With between 15-30 days’ notice we will refund 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations with notice of 14 days or less, however if we are able to resell your place on the course we will provide a full refund.
BSAVA reserves the right to alter the programme or the speaker should this become necessary due to unavoidable circumstances. BSAVA reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants should note that the BSAVA member's rate applies only when the person attending the course is a member of the Association. To qualify for the reduced member's rate for courses, non-members must join BSAVA prior to the course.
