Skin flaps are often avoided in practice due to perceived complications. This course aims to introduce vets to skin flaps, varying from the simple to the more complex and dispel the myth that they are hard to do! This is a lecture-based course, based on actual cases with step by step illustrations on how to construct efective skin flaps in dogs and cats. Decision making on when skin flaps are appropriate and what flaps are indicated will form an important part of this course.
To learn about the different varieties of skin flaps in dogs and cats
To understand the indications of skin flaps
To enable decision making on the most appropriate flaps in clinical practice
To be able to perform flaps appropriatley and be aware of factors that result in flap failure
