This course will concisely cover the basic principles of computed tomography (stressing aspects useful for improving image quality) and then concentrate on indicators for its use in thoracic and abdominal disease, emphasising when it offers advantages over conventional imaging. The basic principles of interpretation will be covered and followed by an interactive session in which delegates will be given CT cases to examine, with the cases then covered in detail with the speaker.
Review the basic principles of computed tomographic physics and image formation
Identify the strengths and weaknesses of computed tomography as an image modality
Recognise situations when computed tomography offers a diagnostic benefit over other imaging modalities
Practice and apply a systematic approach to computed tomographic image interpretation

I graduated from Bristol and worked for 4.5 years in mixed / small animal practice, achieving the RCVS certificate in Veterinary Diagnostic Imaging. After my PhD, I started an imaging residency at Liverpool in 2010. In 2013 I became lecturer in Diagnostic Imaging and attained my European Diploma. I was recognised as an RCVS specialist and appointed senior lecturer in 2015.

To qualify for an applicable refund, cancellations must emailed to email@example.com or requested by telephone on 01452 726700. With over 30 days’ notice we will refund 70% of the course fee. With between 15-30 days’ notice we will refund 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations with notice of 14 days or less, however if we are able to resell your place on the course we will provide a full refund.
BSAVA reserves the right to alter the programme or the speaker should this become necessary due to unavoidable circumstances. BSAVA reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants should note that the BSAVA member's rate applies only when the person attending the course is a member of the Association. To qualify for the reduced member's rate for courses, non-members must join BSAVA prior to the course.
