This course is aimed at furthering proficiency and understanding of the use of locking plates in small animal orthopaedics. Those who are interested in using locking plates, or those that are using locking plates but not fully confident with the rules of application (when to use and when not to use locking) are encouraged to attend.
The course will be taught through a series of short lectures interspersed with practical demonstrations and hands-on application, including (comparison of) locking to non locking plate application to bone models.
At least 60% of the time will be spent on practical exercises and consideration of case examples.

Gareth is a 1996 graduate of Cambridge University. He has worked in mixed, general and referral practice and has been a UK RCVS Diplomate and recognised specialist since 2007. He currently divides his time between clinical work and teaching at University College Dublin, consultancy work for Vet Instrumentation and CPD delivery.
He is chairman of BVOA, A reviewer for several journals and an examiner for the RCVS. His intersts include teaching, implant development, locking technologies, TPLO surgery, Patellar luxation, minimally invasive fracture management and cementless hip replacements.

To qualify for an applicable refund, cancellations must emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or requested by telephone on 01452 726700. With over 30 days’ notice we will refund 70% of the course fee. With between 15-30 days’ notice we will refund 50% of the course fee. No refunds will be provided for cancellations with notice of 14 days or less, however if we are able to resell your place on the course we will provide a full refund.
BSAVA reserves the right to alter the programme or the speaker should this become necessary due to unavoidable circumstances. BSAVA reserves the right to cancel a course due to unforeseen circumstances. Registrants should note that the BSAVA member's rate applies only when the person attending the course is a member of the Association. To qualify for the reduced member's rate for courses, non-members must join BSAVA prior to the course.
