Learning is all about you. This day course will be tailored to the different types of learners, so that all of you will learn something new, old, blue and exciting. This course aims to equip you with the knowledge and skills required to apply clinical reasoning skills to the patient presented with seizures.
I have developed a clinical reasoning approach which will enable you to think like a neurologist and act with confidence. Not only will you develop and strenghten your problem-solving skills in veterinary neurology, you will become more confident in identfying neurological abnormalities and in managing epilepsy cases. Epilepsy management is more than giving drugs appropriately and we will be discussing new management options for the patient and the owner.

Learning Objectives

Appreciate the importance of clearly defining the problem to differentiate seizures from movement disorders, syncope and vestibular disease.
Appreciate the importance of differentiating between seizure types and why this is important in a seizure work up.
Develop a diagnostic approach to the seizuring patient that logically assesses intra and extra cranial disease.
Understand the potential and limitations of anticonvulsant drugs and of mangement options beyond drugs
