In 2023, we awarded £159,211 of grant funding to 11 projects, including our first Research Fellowship, one master’s degree by research, three clinical research projects and four student research projects. Eight peer-reviewed papers and three review studies deriving from PetSavers-funded projects were published. We launched the Ageing Canine Toolkit at BSAVA Congress, and received a substantial legacy of £87,560 from Terry Heath towards research into Bull Terrier health and other canine health research. Ellyn Groat won the BSAVA PetSavers Veterinary Achievement Award and Emily Blackwell received the BSAVA PetSavers Clinical Abstract Award. |

In 2022, we awarded £165,691 of grant funding to 12 projects, including three master’s degrees by research, five clinical research projects and four student research projects. Eight peer-reviewed papers deriving from PetSavers-funded projects were published, and we received a major donation of £17,000 into Border Terrier health. Ross Bond won the BSAVA PetSavers Veterinary Achievement Award for his paper on transverse sectioning of skin biopsies from alopecic dogs. |
