2007 Competition - 'Pet companionship'

The 2007 Petsavers photography competition was the first ever Petsavers photography competition. The competition was open to amateur adult and junior photographers and the aim of the competition was to find the best pictures inspired by our thoughts of pet companionship, inspiring pet owners to reflect on what their pets bring to their lives, what our pets mean to us and our families and the friendship that exists between our pets.

The competition entries were judged by Simon King, a filmmaker famous for wildlife programmes, such as the BBC’s Big Cat Diary. Finalists were presented their awards by Simon King at the BSAVA Congress 2008. Tricia Colville, the then Petsavers chair commented “we have thoroughly enjoyed looking at each and every photograph we have received for our competition. They were truly heart-warming and help to underline just how important pets are in our lives”.
