Fundraising Ideas

Here are some fundraising ideas, if you are thinking of holding an event on behalf of Petsavers and need some help organising it, then please get in touch and we will be delighted to help.

Swimming
You could charge entry to a swimming competition at your local pool, with people competing in different age groups to swim the most laps in a certain time, with prizes for the winners of each category.

Sponsored Dog Walk
People of all ages will enjoy getting together to walk their pets, and the pets are bound to have a great time too! You could ask all the walkers to ask for sponsorship to walk a certain number of miles and give everyone maps to mark out their route, or charge a small amount for joining the walk. Veterinary practices and pet shops would usually be happy to advertise your event.

Petsavers Picnic
Why not ask for a small donation, and for everyone to bring one dish or drink, and get together (with your pets, too!) for a picnic in your local park?

Cake Sale
See if your local school/church or village hall is available to hold a cake sale and coffee morning. Get as many people as possible to make a cake to bring along, and see how many you can sell! Or you could bake a few of your own and sell them at your work/school or university.

Dress Down/Fancy Dress Day
This is a simple and effective way of raising funds for Petsavers. If you can persuade your employers or school to sanction a dress down or fancy dress day, your colleagues or classmates are likely to jump at the chance to get out of their formal attire for a day!

Pub Quiz
Every good local should have a pub quiz! If yours doesn’t, perhaps you could ask the landlord/lady about organising one in aid of Petsavers.

Gifts in Lieu
Special occasions such as anniversaries, births and birthdays, weddings, retirement, new job etc always provide an excuse for a celebration and often family, friends and colleagues ask the question as to what to buy as a gift. Whilst this is a nice problem to have, often thinking of what you can ask for is not always easy particularly as we reach our older years and often have many of the things we desire. So why not use the opportunity to ask for a donation to your favourite charity ‘Petsavers’ instead of a gift? You could always turn the whole celebration into a fundraising bash.

Nominate Petsavers as beneficiary
Recommend Petsavers to be the beneficiary of an annual fundraising event that you are aware of. Many companies respond to their employees’ suggestions for donations so find out what your employer’s policy is on charity giving and nominate Petsavers to be a recipient of any awards made.
