Blue Cross Himalayas Challenge

Get active, help raise money for The Blue Cross and do something amazing in the Himalayas. The Blue Cross is looking for people who like a challenge.

The pet charity is organising a sponsored trek in the Indian Himalayas and is encouraging animal lovers to sign up to take part to help raise money for the animals in its care.

Hike the Himalayas is set to take place from 21st – 31st October 2010, when a group of 30 people will set off on a five day challenging trek in the Himalayas. The event will take in a stay in Dharamsala, residence of the exhiled Buddhist spiritualist leader His Holiness the Dalai Lama, remote villages, Buddhist monateries, the Taj Mahal and unforgettable scenery.

Heather Collin, Blue Cross fundraising officer, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for anyone who thrives on a challenge and would like to trek through the spectacular Himalayas, knowing that by doing so, you are also helping thousands of sick, injured and homeless animals cared for by the Blue Cross every year.”
