BVOA Spring meeting - 7 April 2010

“Joint disease; the present and the future”

Topics to be covered in the morning’s lectures and discussion will include the genetics of small animal orthopaedic disease, stem cell therapy for canine joint disease, a review of inflammatory joint disease and a review of synovial fluid cytology. We’ll also cover limb sparing surgery in small animals, limb sparing surgery in people as well as current developments in stem cell therapy for the treatment of joint disease in humans.

The afternoon session will comprise the presentation of Clinical Research Abstracts, presentation of the Prof. Leslie Vaughan Prize, the Association’s Annual General Meeting, and lectures and discussion on elbow joint disease in the cat and alternative techniques for carpal arthrodesis.

Speakers will include Drs. Dylan Clements, Hannah Geere, Chris Belford, Pilar LaFuente, Julius Liptak, Katya Voss and Prof. Gordon Blunn.

As usual, the meeting will be held at the Birmingham International Convention Centre in Austin Court.
