The Association is a professional body which was founded to serve veterinary surgeons who treat companion animals and now has over 5,500 members. The majority of our members work in practice, and represent over a third of the working veterinary surgeons in the UK. We also have a growing number of worldwide professionals, predominantly throughout Europe, but also in the Americas and Australasia.
On behalf of its members, the BSAVA encourages veterinary surgeons to develop their professional skills, runs numerous continuing education courses throughout the UK, hosts the biggest annual small animal conference in the world, publishes books, manuals, journals and guides on a diversity of small animal topics. The BSAVA also funds clinical investigations into the diseases of companion animals through its charity Petsavers, and provides a forum for the discussion of issues of importance to veterinary surgeons in small animal practice, submitting evidence on their behalf to the British Veterinary Association and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons as well as to government departments.
The BSAVA strives to represent member interests internationally through various European and world small animal organisations. BSAVA membership gives you access to a vast range of small animal veterinary resources, so to keep your member benefits active, or start to experience the benefits BSAVA has to offer, renew or join through the below links.
