The 2009 award went to Dr Jörg Steiner. Jörg received his veterinary and doctoral degree from the Ludwig-Maximilians University in Munich, Germany. He completed an internship at the University of Pennsylvania and a residency at Purdue University. In 1996 he achieved board certification with the American and European Colleges of Veterinary Internal Medicine. In 2000 he received a PhD from Texas A&M University for his work on canine digestive lipases. He currently serves as an Associate Professor with the Department of Small Animal Medicine and Surgery and the Department of Veterinary Pathobiology at Texas A&M University and also serves as the Director of the GI Laboratory at Texas A&M.
