Delegates with disabilities
The ICC and NIA are modern buildings and their facilities for visitors with disabilities have been applauded internationally. Please inform the BSAVA in advance if you have any special requirements by calling 01452 726700 or email congress@bsava.com.
For vehicles displaying Blue badges, designated free parking spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Disabled parking at the NIA is situated on Level 9 North and Level 11 Upper South.
Manual wheelchairs are available for use free of charge. Please call the security control room on +44 (0)121 6445151 to arrange.
For those who are unable to access the NIA easily, arrangements can be made for coffee, tea and lunch bags to be made available at the ICC. Please contact the BSAVA Congress Office to arrange – +44 (0)1452 726700.
For those with a hearing impairment, an induction loop system is available in all halls. Contact the BSAVA in advance and we can make the appropriate receiver available for your use.
Assistance dogs in work are welcome.
Assistance and directions
There are two manned Information Desks for delegates. In the NIA, an Information Desk can be found next to the entrance to the Olympian Suite/Registration Area. Within the ICC, the Desk is located in the foyer of Hall 3. If you need any further assistance or directions during Congress, please ask a member of the NIA or ICC Staff (wearing blue jackets), Congress Stewards (wearing a BSAVA T-shirt) or members of Congress Committee (wearing a round RED badge).
Climate
The weather in Birmingham in April is usually mild, about 10°C, with unpredictable showers.

Facilities within the ICC
The Mall of the ICC contains various services, including: Tourist Information; The Business Centre; Centre Shop; Castle Fine Art gallery; Cash machine; and Flowers@theicc.
Health
Both National Health Service and private medical treatment is readily available. Visitors from the European Community should bring the appropriate form confirming their good standing within their own health service (the equivalent of the European Health Insurance Card).
Medical emergencies
In the event of a medical emergency, please notify a member of the NIA and ICC staff (wearing blue jackets) or any Congress Steward, BSAVA Official or BSAVA staff. Alternatively, call the Medical Centre on
+44 (0)121 200 2202 ext 2222. The NIA and ICC have on-site Medical Centres with fully qualified staff.
Messages
Two message services are available at the NIA throughout Congress for delegate use. Electronic messages can be displayed on monitors in the ICC and within the Exhibition Hall. Messages should be placed at the desk labelled “Messages” in the Registration Area.
Photographs
All photographs are available for purchase and proofs can be viewed in the foyer of Hall 3.
Travel insurance
It is recommended that all delegates effect a personal comprehensive travel insurance policy.
