Highlights of the 2010 programme include:
■ Recent advances in diabetes
■ Management of epilepsy
■ Fracture fixation in the cat
■ Blood transfusions
■ Oncological surgery
■ Farm pets for the small animal vet
■ Feline medicine
The programme is designed to provide the veterinary surgeon in general practice with updates and ideas that they can implement in their daily work. This is emphasised in the Interactive and the ever-popular “…Made Easy” streams. In addition, there are a number of State of the Art lectures to highlight innovation in veterinary science.
This year there is a lecture on genetic testing, which is likely to become an ever-expanding field in the investigation of hereditary disease in our companion animals. Masterclasses in topics such as chronic gastrointestinal disease, corneal surgery, imaging vascular liver disease, blood-borne infection in cats, and how to diagnose and treat food allergy in dogs and cats allow interaction with experts in small group settings. As in previous years, we welcome our colleagues from the North American Veterinary Congress who, in 2010, will share their expertise in the fields of dentistry and reptiles. Finally, do not forget the Clinical Research Abstracts, which allow for the most recent cutting-edge knowledge to be shared by all at Congress.
