VMD: New special import certificate service

The Veterinary Medicines Directorate (VMD) is currently running a pilot of their new special import certificate service, which will soon replace the old special import scheme platform.

Before they make the switch over, they need vets to pilot the service by submitting real applications to help test and refine the system. All certificates issued during the pilot are valid.

Improvements to the new service are aimed at making the system more accessible, mobile friendly and easier to navigate. The introduction of formatting changes to the certificates should make key information clearer.

For those veterinary practices not wishing to participate in the pilot, the old scheme will continue to be available throughout the pilot.
