The first annual Eastern European Veterinary Conference thrives in Serbia

28 October 2016

In October, Belgrade welcomed over 1,000 vets from 37 different countries around the Eastern European region and beyond. The first Eastern European Veterinary Conference (EEVC), organised by small animal veterinary associations from Serbia, Croatia and Romania with the support of BSAVA was declared a resounding success by delegates, exhibitors, sponsors and organisers alike.

Denis Novak, President of the Serbian Association and chair of the organising committee said, “This event has been many years in the planning and we couldn’t have asked for a better result. As a group our objective was to bring an educational event of the quality and scale available to our colleagues elsewhere in Europe at a price local vets could afford – we feel we have achieved that.”

Florence Kahn-Ramos, Global Congress and Event Manager Pet Business at Merial said: ‘Merial were delighted to be involved in this project bringing high quality CPD and industry expertise to Eastern Europe. We were thrilled to see such fantastic delegate numbers at the conference and look forward to future events in the region.’

Planning for next year’s event is underway, when the event will become known as The Eastern European Regional Veterinary Conference (EERVC) to better represent the very broad range of countries attending this event.
