Become a volunteer for the BSAVA

BSAVA are seeking to recruit volunteers to key roles within our governance structure. These roles will be taking over from current post holders who are due to finish their tenure, there will be the opportunity to observe the work of the particular area before moving into the post in either April or June 2023 and to become familiar with the structure and staff that you will be working with as we continue to be innovative and develop our member services and products within the changing landscape of the veterinary profession.
The posts that we are recruiting into are:
- Chair of Council
- Chair of Audit and risk Committee
- Incoming Chair of Education Committee
- Chair of Regions
- Affiliate group Coordinator
The membership of the BSAVA encompasses a wide range of members, students through to retired members, nurses, and veterinary surgeons, all have different needs from their membership at different stages of their work life. The BSAVA’s mission is to enable the community of small animal veterinary professionals to develop their knowledge and skills through leading-edge education, scientific research, and collaboration and our volunteers are key to allow us to achieve this mission.

The roles are unpaid voluntary positions with great opportunities to network, learn from others and undertake training relevant to the post but which will expand your profile within a working environment. Reasonable expenses are paid and depending on the committee a proportion of the meetings are held remotely.
