Seeking Veterinarians to participate in online Melbourne Veterinary School research survey

Contact Information: Tommie van Veghal and Thierry Beths

The University of Melbourne Veterinary School is completing a study titled “The opinion of the veterinary profession on the use of chiropractic and other complementary/alternative therapy in the treatment of musculoskeletal injury and disease in animals“

It is an original research survey of 23 questions that will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. The questions are a mix of demographic and opinion-based questions. The project will gather information on the opinion of the veterinary profession on the use of chiropractic and other complementary/alternative therapy in the treatment of animals suffering from musculoskeletal injury and disease. It will also gather information on how veterinarians believe complementary/alternative therapy should be taught in veterinary education. We will analyze the results, and critically evaluate them with reference to the current state of evidence in the literature."

Our prospective research participants are veterinarians within the UK, Australia, Canada and the USA.

The survey is currently active online, and will be open until May-June 2019. The results will be used to run statistical analysis to determine whether there are correlations between the demographic data and resulting opinion. Our aim is to get as many survey responses that we can from veterinarians located in the regions listed above. We will use the results to write a report, with aim for publication in a relevant journal.
