Regions Now: Liver Disease
Online , Online, Gloucester Gloucestershire, GL2 2AB
brought to you by Southern region
Hepatobiliary disease remains challenging to manage as for many individuals it is chronic and progressive with few initial clinical signs. On many occasions hepatobiliary disease is initially detected on routine biochemistry or as an incidental finding on abdominal imaging. This Regions Now event will focus on the approach to diagnosis and management of chronic liver disease.
Before the live event
Delegates will be issued with a link to a closed group on the BSAVA Regional website, with access granted to a series of short webinars and associated reading. Access to this will be from 26th July 2022. The webinar will focus on diagnostic testing for hepatobiliary disease particularly the interpretation of blood results and the approach to imaging the hepatobiliary system with ultrasound. Results of these tests can then be used to decide on whether tissue diagnosis is warranted and, if so, how samples are to be obtained. A clear diagnostic path is essential to case management.
The live session will take place on 2nd August 2022. Join us in the waiting room at 7.30pm, for a prompt 7.45pm course start. This session will last 1.5 hours with opportunities for questions and discussion with the speaker. Taking the information on diagnostics presented in the webinar, the live session will focus on applying these in case-based scenarios to discuss approaches, treatment options and monitoring outcome.
After the event
Delegates will have access to the online content and discussion forum, and there will be opportunity for community peer to peer, and volunteer discussion, which is an important part of our Regional CPD.
