About Membership

The Association is a professional body which was founded to serve veterinary surgeons who treat companion animals and now has over 5,500 members. The majority of our members work in practice, and represent over a third of the working veterinary surgeons in the UK. We also have a growing number of worldwide professionals, predominantly throughout Europe, but also in the Americas and Australasia.

The BSAVA strives to represent member interests internationally through various European and world small animal organisations. BSAVA membership gives you access to a vast range of small animal veterinary resources, so to keep your member benefits active, or start to experience the benefits BSAVA has to offer, renew or join through the below links

Tax Relief

Tax Relief on Membership Subscriptions
The BSAVA is a recognised ‘approved body’ by the HM Revenue and Customs (HMRC) – so this means that your annual membership subscription can be offset as an allowable taxable expense against income earned from your veterinary work. So a higher rate tax payer can save 40% on their BSAVA membership subscription, or 20% for a basic rate tax payer.
