The Membership Development Committee is responsible for helping to address the concerns of BSAVA members in general practice and runs a number of courses designed to help practices implement good standards. These include a very successful two-day health and safety course and a one-day dispensing course.

The Membership Development Committee also supports the Public Relations Officer in responding to comments and suggestions from members as well as wider enquiries from members of the public.

Students are vital for future membership, which in turn is vital for the growth of BSAVA. The Membership Development Committee recognises this by forging links with students via our student liaison officer and endeavours to increase our membership via the membership recruitment working party.

The Membership Development Committee maintains links with other small animal organisations by representing BSAVA at their meetings such as the Veterinary Nursing Council and the Practice Standards groups within the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
